A new story in the New York Times “In Transit” section features a cabin in the Grand Canyon built in 1890 as a stagecoach stop.  It has been newly renovated and can been rented for an overnight stay–dream on!  Read the NY Times story here.

We found a wonderful website and blog Our Acadia all about Acadia National Park and the charming towns around it in Maine. We knew we would like it when we read this post on the blog:

My favorite New Yorker cartoon shows a couple entertaining in their NYC apartment, which is decorated with fishing buoys. Their guests realize they’re trapped when the host asks, “Did we mention that we spent last summer in Maine?” As someone similarly obsessed with Maine, I know that look of panic.”

In Our Arcadia own words…”It’s where carriage roads lead to tapas restaurants and wine bars. It’s where hikers, kayakers, and rock climbers meet camping families and the yacht-buying rich. (Martha Stewart got her picnic boat here.)” Sounds good to us!

Post image for The Sky Hotel- Aspen

We wanted to introduce you all to what looks like a fun hotel in Aspen, The Sky Hotel. Located in downtown Aspen and next to the Little Nell this hotel sure has a lot to offer. Owned by the Kimpton Hotel Group who have boutique hotels all over the country, it seems like the perfect destination in winter or summer.  And I hear the snow is great in Aspen this year for all you ski lovers!

The Sky Hotel bought these adorable Gondola Ornaments from us this holiday season to pass out to all of their holiday guests!

Check out the great things the Denver Post had to say about this hotel.  “Stay here if you: want to be in the middle of the Aspen action, with 39 Degrees off the lobby, one of the hottest bars in town. It’s close to: the Little Nell, the best hotel in Aspen and one of best in America (and a great stop for lunch by the pool to feel rich). In the summer, Sky is next to just about everything, not only the chic shops and restaurants, but the grocery and liquor stores. In the winter, it’s at the base of the Silver Queen gondola. You know what they say about location — this is it.”
